One of my new favorite classic drink is the Black Russian. The Black Russian is similar to a White Russian, minus the milk and a slightly different mix of the liquor.
This is a very dangerous drink. You can knock back 2 or 3 of these and you will know it.
So here's what's in it:
1 part Vodka
.75 part Coffee Liqueur (Kahlua)
Pour over ice in an Old-Fashioned glass (the short one) and stir.
This drink is sweet and is a good after dinner drink.

One of my faves. Try Kamora instead of Kahlua - it has a more pronounced nutty/coffee flavor, and it's actually cheaper.
+1 to the Kamora. It is cheaper and I find the flavor a better mix for the vodka.
I have had good reactions from females using Stoli Vanilla vodka instead for both Black and White Russians.
A great twist on this,
1 part vanilla vodka
1 part kahlua
1 part fresh espresso
shak hard to produce a heavy froth and serve as a martini. you should get a coal black base with a dense light coloured froth, garnish it with 3 fresh coffee beans. If you don't use fresh espresso you wont get the froth.
To mix it up a bit more, use regular vodka instead of flavoured, and sweeten it with a bit of amaretto.
